What did they ever do to you?
If I had a dollar for the number of times clients have said “I don’t like v-necks,” in their emails to me, I’d be maybe in a different tax bracket (depending on the current tax code). My question is: when was the last time you even tried one on? It’s probably been years, if ever.
Why the aversion to v-necks, what did they ever do to you? The number of times I’ve had to pass on a good piece for a bundle solely because it had the “wrong” neckline has become one time too many. I’m here to present the solution: layering.

Full disclosure, I am a former v-neck hater. I felt they were unflattering on me, and feeling cold air on my sternum for whatever reason, was a sensory nightmare. I then discovered the strategy of layering a crew-neck tee underneath, and I simply have not looked back. I’m an avid v-neck wearer now, and the added visual interest of the contrasting colors and necklines instantly elevates any outfit.
Taking your style to the next level is going to require a bit of open-mindedness, and the willingness to admit that maybe you were wrong about not liking something!
My current go-to layering tees are vintage shrunken graphic tees like this one and the Perfect Cotton Crewneck Tee from Madewell: shop similar here.
Current Obsessions
I was recently gifted jeans from Motel Rocks, and they’ve become my new favorites. The low rise, baggy fit feels flattering and comfortable, and they pair with just about everything in my closet. The low-slung baggy jeans from Madewell have also been a recent go-to in that closet as well!

Other faves I’ve worn constantly the past few weeks: stripes, banana yellow, suede vintage bomber jacket.
